1922 - UNITEA was formed. Allada Valley, (along with a small bungalow) was bought. 1923 - Chamraj and Rockland Estate (with a small factory) were bought 1926 - Part of Devarshola Estate was bought and renamed Devabetta Estate 1928 - Kodery Valley Estate was bought 1930 - A new factory was built in Devabetta Estate 1934 - Chamraj Factory was expanded. Devabetta factory was destroyed due to fire 1954 - The company acquired Korakundah Estate from Tea Estates India Limited 1961 - Stanes & Company sold their shares to Amalgamations 1969 - A factory was built in Korakundah to cope with increase in crops 1974 - 2.35 acres were purchased at Coimbatore from T.Stanes & Co where the company's present registered office is situated 1985 - As Chamraj and Korakundah were both manufacturing Orthodox type of teas, a need was felt to have a CTC factory. Hence Allada Valley factory was built 1986 - The company contributed towards setting up higher education scheme 1987 - Children's home was set up for the orphans of the surrounding villages 1988 - 40 acres of land near Allada Estate was acquired 1994 - The new administrative office at Coimbatore was built 1996 - UNITEA sets up its own R& D facility 1997 - Pension scheme was introduced- one of the first amongst Plantations (Fairtrade- Pension scheme) 2004 - Both Chamraj and Korakundah achieved ISO 9001 Certification 2008 - Chamraj Tea won Golden Leaf awards for Orange Pekoe. Chamraj tea bagged the "Best Tea Award" under Black Tea category at the World Tea Expo, at Las Vegas, US. Both Chamraj and Korakundah achieved ISO 22000 certification 2009 - UNITEA was awarded the FLO certificate for adhering to Fairtrade standards. Korakundah Tea Garden received the Limca award for being the highest tea garden in the country (7920 ft. above mean sea level) 2010 - Korakundah received the "Highest Organic Tea Garden" certificate from Elite World Records. Korakundah achieved the Naturland Certification. Chamraj tea get highest price at- TGLIA(The Golden Leaf India Award)- Off 50,365 Kg of tea 48,500 Kg was sold at 1,200 /kg 2011 - UNITEA bagged maximum Golden Leaf awards. Of the five awards, Korakundah bagged four - two for green tea and two for organic tea 2012 - Chamraj tea fetches Rs.1,500 a Kg at e- sale. "UNITEA corners glory in UK". Chamraj Winter Delight and Korakundah Organic Frost Tea have bagged awards at the "Great Taste Awards 2012"
